Platform-K

July 25th, 2016 by Rebecca

I stumbled upon this video from a very exciting performance workshop I gave in May 2014. Platform-K is a nonprofit dance organization for people with disabilities. We worked during 4 afternoons on the topic of vulnerability. What a pity this organization didn’t receive any fundings from the Flemish art commission for the upcoming years.

The story ‘Rikke-Tikke-Tak’, written in 1851 by the Flemish writer Hendrik Conscience, is the starting point for the creation of a sound installation in collaboration with Stijn Demeulenare. In the framework of MUS-E Belgium, platform for artists in co-creation, the artists will work with a class of schoolchildren on the topic of day dreaming and longing.  The sound and voice recordings of the children will be part of the installation.
